Anthropologie-Inspired Shoe Makeover

Chalk Painted Shoes
I've been known to say that I'm going to have a closet full of nice shoes when I'm a doctor. The soon-to-be Mr. Frosting says, "then we'd still live in the same place but with a lot more shoes."
Read on to see the inspiration, the BEFORE pics, and of course a short tutorial.
I spotted these Anthropologie Mint Mallow Peeptoes on Pinterest. I loved the fresh green color but not the $268 price tag.
For now I can't justify splurging on darling mint green shoes. I remembered seeing cute spray painted shoes at Christina's Adventures.
So I plucked my sparkly zebra print flats (what was I thinking with those?) out of the GW pile and jumped on the shoe-painting train.

I'll definitely be making more velcro flowers for different options.
I wonder how long the paint will hold up?

These are amazing! I'm featuring this tomorrow on my blog! http://herestohandyandy.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea! They turned so cute!
ReplyDeleteThose are absolutely adorable! I like the Anthro ones, but I wouldn't spend that amount of money on them - who knows how long that mint green is going to look fresh to us? But the knockoff? Perfection! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the shoes. Is there a special reason you used "chalkboard" paint instead of just plain acrylic paint?
ReplyDeleteThanks Suzanne! I couldn't find your email to reply. And yes, I used chalkboard paint for two reasons: 1) it is supposed to stick better without primer & I was worried about the paint peeling off shoes after I wore then a few times, 2) wanted the more matte chalk paint look, as acrylic paint looks more shiny.
