DIY Wedding Maps

Wedding Design Tutorial

P

 rettify your directions

I've finally gotten around to working on our wedding website.

Since we're having a destination wedding with guests coming from all over the country and world, and we chose not to include printed maps with our invitations, I wanted to post area maps at our website (along with printable versions).

Before I moved to California, I remember not knowing where ANY of the cities were located, much less where they were relative to one another.

So the map above attempts to orient visitors. I marked our wedding location with a heart. I also labelled cities our guests will be flying into or visiting during their trips.

I followed this Weddingbee tutorial to create pretty maps using google maps, powerpoint, and a Wacom tablet (thank you fiancé). The original tutorial was from 2007 and used Yahoo maps.

  1. Very clever! And I'm totally into the idea of destination weddings these days, it makes me wish I'd done it myself when I got married :) Thanks for sharing and linking up at my *Get Creative* party again this week!
